Description
Orange and white Murano glass Birillo lamp. There are no breaks. 1970s, working. Designer CARLO NASON
Carlo Nason born in Murano in 1935, grew up frequenting the glass masters who worked in the family furnace.
Its culture takes possession of the most refined techniques of the island’s glassmaking tradition.
More than fifty years of association with this material have earned him a great deal of experience, so much so as to push him to turn his attention to modern design.
His glasses have been chosen to be exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art in New York and at the Galleries Difference in Paris.
The roots of Mazzega1946 sink into Murano, a land of master glassmakers who still today preserve the centuries-old techniques of working glass by hand. In over seventy years the company has revived and reinterpreted the Murano heritage with passion and tenacity, without betraying its origins and inviting international designers with heterogeneous expressive languages to adopt those alchemies of sands, oxides and dusts.
Mazzega1946 today addresses a global niche market, offering lighting products that last over time, faithful to the tradition of the island, exploring innovative and contemporary contents.
Strengthened by many years of experience, its know-how allows the creation of tailor-made projects, collaborating with the end customer to support him from the beginning to the end, from the original idea to the installation of the product.
